Cindy
Anderson
Team: 13 General Coach - Lake Brantley
This will be her first year to coach for OVA. Cindy has
been playing and coaching volleyball for over 20 years. She
played college volleyball in Texas and Missouri and was a
graduate assistant for one year. She also coached in Texas
from 1993-1996 and Missouri from 1997-2000 and coached at
Apopka High School for one year in 2003. She was an
assistant coach for back to back Missouri class 2A state
championship teams from 1998-2000. As an adult she plays
volleyball and is looking forward to getting back into
coaching this year.

Leinani Bernabe
Team: 16 Asics Assistant Coach
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Raised in Denver,
Colorado. Played Middle Blocker at Arvada High School and
was All-State Honorable Mention, Conference League MVP, Team
MVP/Captain. Played for Boulder Volleyball Club for four
years. Played Middle Blocker for Florida Southern College.
Placed on the SSC Commissioner’s List of Outstanding
Achievement as a sophomore. Graduated with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in communications/advertising. Coached
volleyball camps at University of Florida and Florida
Southern College.

Michelle Bookamyer
Team: 14 Asics Head Coach
Michelle was born and raised in Orlando, FL. During
Michelle's volleyball career as a player she played
at Edgewater High School, Florida Community College at
Jacksonville, and Rollins College. Michelle was also a
member of OVA for 3 years during high school.
Currently Michelle still plays volleyball through the
women's OVA team, grass volleyball tournaments and beach
volleyball tournaments. Michelle coached previously 2
seasons at Edgewater High School and coached with OVA for
the last 5 years. Prior to OVA, Michelle coached 2 years
with Jacksonville Juniors. Michelle received a Bachelors
in Computer Science from Rollins College, Masters in
Business Administration from the University of Central
Florida, and is currently a career - financial
representative for Northwestern Mutual. |

Chris
Bowers Team: 15
Travel Assistant Coach
Chris will be entering his first season at OVA
this fall. Prior to his arrival, Chris has spent the
previous two years assistant coaching the Boone High School
Varsity girls team. He is an Orlando native, and a proud
alum of the University of Central Florida where he graduated
with a BA in social science education in 2006. Chris is
excited to be working with OVA and hopes to bring a
holisitic method to his teams, focusing equally on the
science of volleyball, a positive mental approach, and hard
hard work.

Deborah Cardoso Team:
14 General Coach Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
and grew up in Orlando, FL. Deborah started playing
volleyball at age 10 and attended Lake Highland Prep where
she played varsity volleyball. She won many awards
such as Player of the Year and MVP along with Wendy's High
School Heismann Nominee in 1996, Channel 9 News Athlete of
the Week, All County Team, and All Conference Team. Deborah
played at OVA the inaugural season under Sindee Snow :-)
She graduated with a Finance degree from University of
Florida and was a member of the club volleyball team for 2
years there. Deborah's coaching experience includes
being the Middle School volleyball advisor for 2007-2008
season at Lake Highland Prep, teaching 6th graders basic
skills and working with the 7th/8th graders on specific
skills. This will be Deborah's first year coaching at OVA.

Clonan Team: 14
National Assistant Coach This will be Kim's
second year coaching with OVA.
Kim is a finance major at the University of Central Florida.
Kim set her freshman
and sophomore year on the Volleyball Team at UCF; freshman
year, she made the Freshman All-Conference team. Kim
graduated from Deland High School where she made Team MVP
and First Team All-District. |

Kevin
Code Team:
16 Red Assistant Coach
Kevin has been a beach volleyball player for many
years and this will be his second year as an Assistant coach
at OVA. He has also been the Oviedo Rec Head Coach
since 2002.

Heather Connelly Team:
17 National Assistant Coach
This is Heather's first season with OVA. She is
originally from Western North Carolina and she attended High
School in Upstate New York where she was on Varsity all 4
years and Captain her Junior and Senior years. Heather
attended Mansfield University (PA) for 2 years where she
played Division II Basketball and ran track. In 2002,
she transferred to Mars Hill College in Western NC where she
played 3 years of DII Volleyball, 2 years of basketball and
earned her Bachelor's degree in Education. Heather was
the Head Coach for the 16's Lake County Juniors team in
2006-07 season; she has been playing and learning volleyball
for over 10 years and she still plays in outdoor
tournaments. Currently, Heather teaches at Leesburg
High School and coaches Cross Country and Girls' Basketball.

Costa Team: 17
National Head Coach
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Played soccer at
Tavares High School, University of Kentucky at Cambellsville
for two years, and Warner Southern College for one. Then
played Middle Blocker for Warner Southern College Men's
volleyball team for 2 years. Coached volleyball camps at
University of Florida and Florida Southern College. Recently
graduated from Warner Southern with a Masters in Business
Administration.

Jen Cuff
Team: 10 National Coach
Jen was a First team all conference Big
West player from the University of Nevada (1990, 1991, 1992,
1993 seasons). She is in her 8th year coaching for
Annunciation Catholic Academy (2000-2007) and she previously
coached for OVA 2 seasons (2002-2004). Jen received
"Female Coach of the Year" honors from OVA in 2004. In
2003, she was the Freshmen coach for Lake Brantley High
School. Jen has two daughters that play for OVA -
Katelyn (13's) and Lexi (10's). She thinks she's
extremely funny so make sure you laugh at her witty sense of
humor :-)

Lindsay Davidson
Team: Middle Specialty Coach
In her 5th season with OVA, Lindsay is making the transition
from an elite coach to a specialty coach. She is very
excited to take on this new role specializing in middles and
blocking. Lindsay was a 4 year starter as a middle blocker,
ending her collegiate career at the University of Oregon in
2002. During her career she earned numerouse awards and was
voted the teams Most Valuable Player in 2002. A native of
the Pacific Northwest, Lindsay played at an elite level for
seven years before venturing south to Florida where she is a
proud member of our adult womens team (3 years running)
where they clutched the USAV A-division Championship
alongside many other OVA coaches.

Stephanie Gibson Team:
15 Asics Head Coach
Stephanie Gibson says her mission is to teach
young athletes to love the sport of volleyball, build self
esteem and confidence in young women, and use their
volleyball experiences to manufacture their life skills.
Coach Gibson is currently a Physical Education Teacher,
Assistant Athletic Director, and Head Girls Volleyball Coach
at Winter Park High School. She has been the varsity
coach at Winter Park High School (2000-2007) and Miami
Sunset (1989-1999). In 18 years of coaching, Gibson has
compiled a career record of 505-82. Gibson’s teams advanced
to the FHSAA Regional playoffs in all 18 seasons. Her teams
have won 15 conference titles, 15 District Titles, nine
Regional titles, and seven State Championship Titles (four
as a head coach). Coach Gibson has been named Florida Dairy
Farmer Coach of the Year in 1995, 2004, and 2005. She has
been selected to coach the FACA State All-Star Game, and has
been named Metro-Conference Coach of the year four times.
In 1989, she took over as the director of the South Florida
Volleyball Club, and held that position for twelve years.
Currently she is a travel team coach with OVA. Gibson
credits club volleyball for the success of her high school
teams. In addition to her coaching experience, Gibson
also played on the collegiate level in two sports. Coach
Gibson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical
Education at Florida International University, while
competing on the Volleyball and Softball Teams. She is a
CAP I certified volleyball coach. Gibson has served five
terms with the FHSAA Volleyball Advisory Committee.

Mark
Headrick Team:
12 Asics Head Coach
This will be Mark's 11th year with OVA. Mark has
been a USA Volleyball member since 1968, AVCA member since
mid 80's and is currently a Collegiate and USA volleyball
referee. Mark was an assistant/head coach for Rollins
College during the late 80's and early 90's. Mark was
Co-Founder of Orlando Gold boys volleyball club where he
also coached.

Maina
Heming Team: 15
National Head Coach/16 General Assistant
Maina will be entering her second year coaching with OVA.
Last year, Maina was a senior starter for the University of
Central Florida women's volleyball team. Before
transferring to UCF her junior year, Maina played at
Independence Community College in Kansas where she earned
NJCAA Divison II All-American First Team honors. Maina
is from Brazil where she has played on many different teams.
Maina has played volleyball for 17 years.

Amanda is a former two-year player for OVA.
She went to South Florida CC and now attends UCF. She
has coached three years at Seminole High School and this
will be her 4th year coaching with OVA. |

Vonn
Howard Team: 15
General Coach Vonn
is entering his second full year as a
coach with OVA after relocating to Orlando from Tampa during
the 2006 club season. While in Tampa, he served as an
assistant coach with the Bob Sierra YMCA’s Club Storm for
two years with teams ranging in ages from 13 – 16. Vonn
graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree from Georgia
Tech where he was a member of the GT Volleyball Club and
served as a head volleyball official for campus
intramurals. Vonn has played volleyball for 11 years.

Maialla Hurga Team:
15 National Assistant Coach/16 General Coach
Maialla was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This is her first season with OVA. Maialla played
professional volleyball in France for the 2005-2006 seasons.
She played college volleyball at the University of Arkansas
and National American University. Prior to coming to
the USA, Maialla played volleyball for Dayvitt/Barueri Sport
Club, Tiete Sport Clube, Ypiranga Esporte Clube in Brazil.
Maialla has many accolades as a left handed setter and will
be a great addition to OVA.

Jorie
Jeannides Team:
16 General Coach - Blue
This is Jorie’s 4th year coaching with
OVA. She has worked with both 15’s and 16’s for the
organization. She was the assistant varsity coach at Apopka
High School and is currently the JV coach at University High
School. Jorie has been playing and coaching for almost 20
years. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended
the University of Central Florida.

Ron
Large Team:
Trainer
This will be Ron's 2nd year coaching with OVA. Ron is a CAP
I certified volleyball coach and has been playing and
coaching volleyball for over 20 years. Ron began the first
boy's volleyball program in Orange County at West Orange
High School in the late 80's. He has coached boys and girls
from elementary age to high school, conducted camps for
beginner and intermediate players, and was the director and
head coach of the Eagles Volleyball Academy. Ron earned a
bachelor's degree in elementary education from SUNY
Cortland, a master's degree in educational leadership from
Nova University, and a doctorate degree in educational
leadership from the University of Central Florida.

Jenni
Luke Team: 10
National Coach
Jenni started
playing volleyball when she was twelve, and
played for Lincoln Northeast High School. During her
high school years, Lincoln Northeast won the 1984
state championship and Jenni was selected for the
All-State team her junior and senior years. Jenni
earned a scholarship to the University of Nebraska
at Kearney, and was a three year starter as the
setter. Jenni was selected for all conference three
of her years, was a CoSida Academic All-American in
1990 and won the Nebraska NCAA Woman of the Year
Award that same year. Jenni still holds records for
setting and service aces today. Jenni
continues to play beach volleyball and won the
Women’s AA Zephyrhills 2006 National Championship.
She has served as the assistant varsity volleyball
coach at Lincoln Northeast High School in 1998,
coached for the Lincoln Juniors Volleyball club in
1997 & 1998, coached for the Wahine Volleyball Club
(NC) in 2004 and currently coaches the Rock Lake
Middle School Volleyball Team. Jenni has two
daughters playing for Orlando Volleyball Academy.
Hailey plays on the 13s and Brittany plays on the
10s.

Jason
Lynch Team: 17
Travel Head Coach
This will be Jason's first year with OVA.
Jason comes to us from Polk Community College as an
Assistant Coach (2007) and was a volunteer assistant for
LAVA in 2007 as well. Prior to 2007, Jason was the
Assistant Coach for St. Petersburg College and a Technical
Coach for Pinellas Heat. In 1996, Jason was a coach
for American River Boys' in Sacramento, CA. Jason
believes strongly in teaching athletes not only the
technical part of volleyball but also the mental aspect to
attain the greatest results.

Dee Dee began her coaching career with UCF and served as
both an Assistant coach and the Head coach for a total of 5
years. She has been involved with club volleyball for
10 years and has coached with OVA for 8 of those. |

Jaime
Oelke Team: 15
Asics Assistant Coach
This is Jaime's seventh year coaching for OVA. In
Jaime's 6 years as a USA Volleyball coach, she has attended
Nationals 4 out of the 6 years. Jaime has over 14
years of experience between playing and coaching at various
levels (including both playing and coaching currently).
Jaime graduated from Rollins College in 2002 with a
Psychology degree. She was a starter for the Rollins
College Tars Volleyball team from 1998-2001 where she still
holds records for digs, aces, and kills for performance.
Prior to Rollins, Jaime played for Naperville Central High
School in Naperville, Illinois and played several club
seasons with Sports Performance. Jaime's greatest
accomplishment thus far in life is being awarded a National
medal from the Army Reserve for setting an example as an
Outstanding Student-Athlete on and off the court in High
School.

Pegram Team: 16
National Assistant Coach
This will be Sarah's first year coaching at OVA;
she played for OVA 3 years before playing for 2 years at
Mercer University. Sarah transferred to UCF and earned a
degree in Marketing and a minor in Sports Business
Management.

Jose
Quinones Team:
Trainer of 13/14s Divisions
Jose served as an
assistant coach at Rollins College from 2002 to 2007. In 2001, as the
head coach of the Bishop Moore girls volleyball team,
Jose led his team to a second place finish at the State
Championships. Prior to coming to Orlando, Jose served
as an assistant coach for the Women's National Team in
Puerto Rico.

Tori
Ratcliffe Team:
16 General Coach - Red
Tori is currently a Junior at Rollins College
pursuing a major in History and a minor in Archaeology.
Originally from Rochester, NY, she graduated from Penfield
HS and played the majority of her club years with VolleyFX.
Tori plays primarily as a libero/devensive specialist
however, was a hitter throughout her club years. She began
her collegiate career at Troy University, transferring to
Auburn University for a year, and has found a home at
Rollins College where she will play out her senior season.
This will be her first year coaching with OVA.

Christina Reinders
Team: 16 Travel Head Coach
Christina is currently a Senior at Rollins College
majoring in International Business. As a member of the
women's volleyball team for the past four years, she was a starter at the middle
blocker position. Prior to Rollins, Christina was a
three year letter winner at Winter Park High School.
She was a two year captain, and had the honors of winning
the MVP, defensive player, and best hitter awards.
This will be Christina's fourth year coaching with OVA.

Stephanie Serna Team:
15 Travel Head Coach
Stephanie was born in Dallas, Texas. This will be
her first year coaching with OVA. Stephanie is
currently a junior starter on the UCF womens' volleyball
team. Prior to playing at UCF, Stephanie played for
Alabama - Birmingham. Stephanie played at O'Connor
High and was also a member of Alamo Club Volleyball team.
She was a 2004 Texas Lone Star High Performance Team and
lettered in basketball and track and field as well.

Jessica Skower Team:
14 Asics Assistant Coach
Jessica Skower has been playing and coaching
volleyball for over 10 years. Jessica was raised in Naples,
Florida. In High School, she played for Naples High and USA
South Volleyball Club. She was also a member of Team Florida
in 2002 and 2003. In college, she played for Florida State
University as a setter/right side while double majoring in
Communications and Sports Management. She had the highest
GPA on the team and completed over 100 hours of community
service. Jessica has won numerous awards for her skills on
the court and in classroom including the prestigious Golden
Nole Award. While in college, Jessica coached many
camps with the Florida State Volleyball Team. She also
traveled around Florida and Georgia coaching numerous
volleyball clinics. Jessica is currently working for Sun
Sports/Fox Sports Network as a Marketing Assistant.

Vach Team: 10
Asics Coach
Graduated from Barron G. Collier in 1983 and went
on to play Div. 1 Volleyball at Stetson University all four
years. After graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Education, she started her teaching and coaching
career in Orlando, Florida. She is currently at Winter
Springs High School and has led her Varsity Volleyball Teams
to the State Finals five times. Her most proud
accomplishment in life is becoming a mother to Sydney 8,
Savannah 6 and Slater 18 months. She has coached for OVA
since the innaugural season.

Felix
Viera Ramos Team: 13
National Head Coach
Felix has over 15 years of volleyball experience
including coaching and playing in Puerto Rico and the USA.
From 1992 through 1997, Felix played professionally in the
Puerto Rican National League as an outside hitter. As
a coach, Felix coached with Club AVOLI (PR), Levittown
Volleyball Association (PR) and Dorado-Tainas Volleyball
Association (PR) and attained various championships with
girls' teams aged11-12 thru 17-19. Before coming to
Florida, Felix was the Director for the Mini-Junior Sports
Program at Carmen Sol Private School and the Director of
Sports for the Recreation and Illegal Drugs Prevention
Office. Prior to his professional career, Felix
attended Central University of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. |

Charles Wolsonovich
Team: 18 Asics Head Coach Charles enters his
sixth year with the Orlando Volleyball Academy, having spent
four of the last five years coaching with the 18 year old teams.
Prior to moving to Orlando, Charles lived in the
Philadelphia area, where he coached two years with Villanova
University and one year with the University of Pennsylvania,
a team which won the Ivy League Championship and qualified
for the NCAA D-I Tournament. Charles has experience
coaching all ages, as he has done camps, clinics, and
private lessons with students ranging in age from 6 to
50.
