Making History:

 

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your continued support!  Our OVA family has grown leaps and bounds and continues to expand annually.  Each year brings a new opportunity for 'more'...OVA wins more tournaments, more OVA teams qualify for nationals, more goals are met, and yet more are set for the future.

Starting a club from scratch was difficult and we knew it would take time, patience, perseverance and expertise!  OVA has been working toward this goal since its inception sixteen years ago.  Knowing what it would take to get to this level, we put a stream of goals together and set our sights on the target.  Year after year, we slowly made progress, tweaking our plan and implementing the latest training methods. We set high standards for everyone involved and are elated with the end result.  We are proud to say that we have SUCCEEDED!

As you know, 2011 has been a fantastic year of major accomplishments, one of which we can all be very proud!  This year OVA did something that only one other club in the nation has achieved!  OVA qualified in the Open Division in every age group, including 18, 17, 16, 15, & 14!  Our 12 and 13 year old teams also qualified at the top of their arena at the National Level!  We had one team qualify twice at two separate qualifiers and two teams win Championships at USA Volleyball Events.  OVA has earned national recognition for the last five years due to the higher standards required by our program. Based on these accomplishments, we will be admired by some and hated by others as any winner would be.

It is often difficult to convey and to educate people to understand exactly what it takes to compete and to qualify at the highest national level.  We live it day in and day out, and we are accustomed to the level of competition throughout the nation.  We all make volleyball our number one priority in our lives to achieve these goals. The dedication, love of the sport, and competitive attitudes, accompanied by a lot of sacrifice, have made the difference.  Everyone in our OVA family was needed to accomplish our goals, from staff to sponsors, to volunteers to parents; all of you make the achievements by the players possible.  The heart and soul as well as hard work of our coaches and players over the last sixteen years combined has accomplished this feat! 

You should all be very proud to be wearing OVA on your chest!  There are few in this world that has been part of such an achievement.  But, make no mistake, there are thousands of others striving to accomplish what you did and remain envious of our success which will make it even more difficult to stay on top. Always remember that others will continue to work hard to reach the levels we have already achieved but more importantly remember, the season isn't over! 

OVA strives each year to make true winners of your children through volleyball and by teaching valuable life lessons along the way.  No matter what level of play, OVA holds and will continue to hold each individual to the highest standard of excellence. We will always train and teach the sport to all athletes who want to learn the game and we will continue to strive and build the scope and quality of volleyball in Central Florida.   In the coming year, we will develop new goals for OVA and cultivate a plan to pursue them.  We will recruit the highest level of coaches possible, and continue to build this great organization.

Thanks to all of you, history has been made! It took a sea of people to make our dreams come true and it was truly a team effort!  As your OVA Directors, we realize that this would not have been possible if not for you, our OVA Family.  We would like to sincerely thank you for helping us achieve our goals and remember,  dare to dream what we may yet achieve.

Goals:

 

* To develop interest and encourage participation in the sport of volleyball for girls 6 years old through seniors in high school.

 

* To provide players with advanced technical training.

 

* To encourage and help athletes pursue higher education by providing maximum exposure to college volleyball programs.

 

* To be recognized as one of the finest youth volleyball programs in the Nation.

 

* To provide assistance for your child's future - OVA will help advise your child for their future in college whether that includes volleyball or not. If your daughter chooses to play volleyball in college, we have recruiting coordinators who will help make college coaches aware of your daughter and her talents.
